He was walking over to assist co-worker in lifting a trash can that was going to be dumped into a gondola

EE was helping another employee dump garbage from a Rubbermaid trash can into a gondola. Trash can was less than half full. He grabbed the can 's handle with an overhand grip. He and the co-worker lifted the can. EE placed his left hand underneath the bottom of the can. As they were lifting he let go of the can 's bottom with his left hand. The can was then set down onto the ground. He was then observed in pain and holding his left biceps inside elbow area.
