I was scrubbed in a STEMI procedure and was splashed in the face with blood and saline fluid as the interventional cardiologist opened a hemostatic valve that was pointed up towards an upper position and sprayed the blood and saline fluid over my face. I was wearing radiation glasses and proper protection equipment but felt eyes burning after the fluids were wiped from my radiation glasses.
