What happened

After we had flipped the patient prone for the surgery I was holding onto the patients arm and a neuromonitoring needle that was placed in the patient stabbed my right thumb. Just a few [REDACTED] prior to me getting stuck the PA in the room had the exact same situation. Several [REDACTED] prior with a different patient the PA was stuck with a neuromonitoring needle as well. I had been working with neuromonitoring for 5 years and never had this happen. The PA said the same but 15 years.
