Blood gas was ordered on one my patients and as soon as i got the blood from patients left hand artery the patient jerked and with a slight movement as soon as i pulled the needle with his jerk i poked my gloved finger with a light poke did break my skin surface with a little bit of blood and i went ahead and reported the incident. labs were drawn from both sides. patient was clear.
