This writer unexpectedly and abruptly lost consciousness while evaluating a patient. On the fall this writer hit their head on the bed side causing a minor abrasion to the right eye lid. Immediately following regaining consciousness staff assisted this writer into a wheelchair and into ED room 112 where writer was checked in for medical evaluation. ED provider gave written medical clearance to this writer to return to work on the same day which was given to direct supervisor.
