Before the incident

I realized the [REDACTED]amin k safety mechanism was crooked and when engaged did not fully cover the needle. I corrected it and placed the needles in the sharps container. I then removed my gloves to see a small poke site on my right index finger. I washed my hands with soap and water and notified the house supervisor for further instructions in an effort to follow the proper protocol.
