Before the incident

Team member was assisting maintenance team on replacing a chain on the bowl elevator

What happened

Maintenance TM got his thumb caught in the blow elevator chain while trying to replace it. Incident occurred in the production room on top of a ladder at the bowl elevator. While TM was attempting to lift the chain to attach with the sproket the chain closed and pinched the TM finger in between then sprocket and the chain.
