helping work on a boiler that was taken out of service

What happened

While boiler #4 was starting something came off top of boiler or exhaust stack and went into my left ey. The boiler was taken offline for the FM Global internal inspection on [REDACTED]. The doors and inspection hatches were removed for the inspection my guess is dust and dirt where unsettled during this process and when the boiler started it became airborne and went into my eye.
