When crouching down to remove a magnet he needed to apply significant force

What happened

While lifting 50-lb bags of salt and twisting them to place in the blender the employee felt a pop in his left knee. Initially there was no pain but [REDACTED] [REDACTED] while crouching down to remove a magnet he had to exert full force. At that moment he felt his knee pop again followed by a sharp pain and subsequent stiffness
