Patient Care in the back of the ambulance

What happened

The patient had an excessively slow pulse so all blood pressures had to be done manually. I was seated on the bench and was about to take a blood pressure. The truck suddenly lurched as the driver stomped on the brakes. He stated someone ran the stoplight in front of him. I was tossed across the back of the unit. I was not seat belted because I could not reach the patient with the seat belt on.
