What happened

Carrying an auger assembly down the stairs to take it to maintenance for repairs. As the employee was carrying the assembly with both hands down the stairs the assembly came apart causing the employee to fall backward and land on a stair step. The assembly parts landed on his torso knocking the wind out of him.
