Before the incident

The employee was in the process of preparing to hang a new bulk bag to be filled.

What happened

When the full bulk bag was taken off the bulk bag hanger the employee started to retract the sliding mechanism to hang another bulk bag. When he had it almost fully retracted his thumb was extended into the opening on the bottom side of the of the retraction device. This cause him to smash his thumb between the handle and the stopper.
