Before the incident

The employee was working in the basement on slab on grade. He was using a circular saw in his right hand to cut a 17 piece of 6 expansion joint held in his left hand. He was wearing all required PPE including cut level 3 resistant glove

What happened

While the employee was cutting the expansion joint it bound up in the material. The circular saw then swung across his left hand causing a laceration to his left index finger.
