Associate was retracting the mast from non-powered telescoping boom attachment.

Associate was operating a non-powered telescoping boom attachment to complete a task. Upon completion of his task during the process of retracting the mast he used the manual release lever with his right hand while his left hand was on the mast. As the mast came down his left index finger was caught between the hook shackle lifting bolt and the edge of the stationary part of the mast.
