Employee was conducting a routine monthly Emergency Showers inspection.

What happened

Upon arrival at the Emergency Shower and as routine the employee needed to cross a channel near the Sulfuric Acid tank to access the shower. Throughout the first section of the channel there are 3 metal planks in place to help cross. However when stepping on one of the planks he slipped and fell backwards injuring his lower back when hitting the concrete channel.
