Before the incident

Associate was picking outbound orders stacking product on his pallet to complete his order.

What happened

Associate backed into the bay location to pick inventory for an order. Once he finished gathering the product he attempted to drive out of the bay locations. In the angle the employee was parked the structural beam was in his blind spot. He turned right as he moved forward causing him to strike the beam. During impact associate struck his head against safety cage on forklift.
