What happened
A Turner Material Handling employee was cutting banding from a bundle of 6 Sch. 160 pipe. The bundle included 7 ea joints of pipe stacked in a 232 configuration. While following the instructions given to him of standing at the end of the pipe to cut the banding he took a step forward to get more leverage on the band cutters. This step put his foot into the line of fire just as the banding was cut. The potential energy of the pipe was released hit his leg and rolled onto his foot.
