Before the incident

The employee was in the trench cutting a liner to a pipe. He was getting ready to install a new one. They were reinstating a service connection that was lined over using a reciprocating saw and hand trowel.

What happened

The employee was getting ready to lift a pipe he had it up on his shoulder and went to put it down on the ground (a simple task) and he felt an extremely sharp pain in his lower back which brought him to the point of tears and took his breath away.
