Before the incident

The employee was assembling a 3 ' by 3 ' pallet with a pneumatic nail gun loaded with 3 inch framing nails.

What happened

After the employee was done assembling the pallet the nail gun had jammed. When he was attempting to remove the jam his finger was still on the trigger of the nail gun. He inadvertently depressed the safety switch in the head of the nail gun and shot a nail into his Left middle finger extending down into his palm.
