What happened

the carrier noticed an unleashed dog outside with the owner she stopped to say hello as not to startle the dog. The dog medium sized brown dog mixed breed with collar. The dog ran immediately out jumping biting the right hand with the mail index and pointer finger both had skin broken i only had time to react and step back putting the satchel between me and the dog to prevent further injury. The owners put the dog inside and provided band aids. Dog officer notified.
