What happened

A mental health pt who was not cleared to leave ran past their sitter in an attempt to elope. I responded and caught up with the pt as she blasted through the EMS door. I was able to safely secure pt but in the process injured my chest wall on the right side. Initially I didn 't feel the injury but by the end of the shift noticed increasing discomfort especially with deep inspiration.
