Before the incident

Operator was opening the bay door to retrieve supplies that were delivered and deposited outside.

What happened

As the operator opened the bay door as they pushed the open button their thumb came in contact with the bay door wheel that was in the track. While it was rolling the door upward the operator 's thumb came in contact with the wheel and was pulled upward into the rail system pinching the thumb between the wheel and the railing system causing the railing system to cut into the side of the operator 's thumb causing a deep laceration.
