Disposing of contaminated butterfly needle

employee was disposing of contaminated butterfly needle she had not fully engaged the safety sheath and when she grabbed the needle off the tabletop it poked her in right index finger. The needle was small gauge- 25g butterfly needle. She washed the area and put bandaid on. She and source patient tested for HBV HCV and HIV. all results are negative and source patient low risk. Employee did have immunity to HBV and up to date on Tetanus vaccine. No additional follow up required at this time. Employee aware of all results.
