Before the incident

Employee was grinding the bottom edge of a piece of metal plate using a 10in diameter sanding disc on an electric grinder while seated in a chair.

What happened

The employee lost control of the grinder when the sanding disc caught the corner of the plate and he was seated positioned directly under the grinder in the path of travel when the grinder kicked back.
