Before the incident

Employee was working in Building 2 on a Tooling job in which he would need to get a portion of extruded aluminum cut down from 18 inches down to a more manageable size.

What happened

After the employee located the material in which he intended to use he picked it up and carried it into the building (estimated 35-40 lbs with a current Employer restriction of 50 lbs) and set one end on the ground and then released the other end to let it fall to the ground. Upon doing so the employee was not able to get his right foot out of the way in time to avoid the material. This led to this piece of extruded aluminum to land on top of the bridge of his toes and rolled off.
