Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment
which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely
to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that
employees were exposed to blood borne pathogen hazards:
(a)  Laney Walker Blvd., Augusta, GA - employer did not provide a
workplace free from bloodborne pathogen hazards in that designated
employees providing first aid who have the likelihood of exposure
to blood or other infectious materials which may be contaminated
with Hepatitis B Virus and Human Immunodeficiency Virus.
Feasible abatement methods should include establishment and
implementation of an Infection control Program with the following
core elements as a minimum:
1.  Establishment of a Hepatitis B vaccination policy and program
which addresses all circumstances warranting such vaccinations and
identifies all employees at substantial risk of directly contacting
blood, body fluids or other potentially infectious materials, and
offers all such employees Hepatitis B vaccinations at no cost in
amounts and at times prescribed by standard medical practice.
2.  Establishment of a post exposure evaluation and follow-up
policy, including antibody or antigen testing, counseling, illness
reporting, and safe and effective post-exposure prophylaxis
according to standard recommendations for medical practice.
