Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to a fall hazard of 20 feet:
In the grocery sales area, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of 20
feet
while climbing around another employee who was on the same steel beam.
Fall
protection was not in use as the employee walked on the steel to travel
East on
a purlin and walked on a beam to travel South in order to reach the
access ladder.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct
this hazard is to require employees to tie off using their safety belts
and lanyards
while on the steel.
