Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment
and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed
to fall hazards:
(a)Service Department -  An employee of GVM, Inc. was observed standing on
the top step of a
six (6) foot fiberglass step ladder in order to perform work activities,
thus exposing the
employee to a fall hazard and related injuries, on or about August 17,
2010.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard includes complying
with American National Standard for Ladders (ANSI A14.5-2000), as well as
the safety requirments
outlined in the ladder's manufacturing listing and labeling requirements.
