Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by uncontrolled rotating parts or drawn into machine by clothing being caught in machine. a)Site 2nd floor: Employees using a Rigid 300 pipe threader were not provided with a momentary switch foot pedal on or about 3/18/97. Abatement Note: Among other method, one feasible and accepted method to correct this hazard is to provide momentary contact device,(switch, foot pedal) as required in ANSI B205.1 1992 Section 4.4.
