Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)Employee was exposed to the hazard of being caught in a moving carousel pie cooling conveyor. The conveyor was used to gain access to a higher level without the equipment being disconnected from its energy source. Employee was exposed to the hazard of being caught in a pinch point action and death. A feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard includes: Perform a job hazard analysis of worker tasks to consider all hazards from sources such as, but not limited to, energy control, falls, equipment operation, and employee positioning in relation to equipment and tasks.ent
