the foot of 57th St. where the structural integrity of the pier was not
maintained,
which exposed employees to the hazard of falling into the water and being
struck by
debris from the already partially collapsed pier on or about May 31, 1994
through
September 28, 1994
ABATEMENT NOTE:
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard
would be the following:
(1) Initiate necessary repairs to the pier to restore the structural
integrity, as outlined
in the condition survey performed by Mueser Rutledge Consulting Engineers
between
9/20/89 and 10/2/89
(2) Cessation of all operations at Pier-57 in Brooklyn.s
