Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of fire and/or explosions: a) Incompatible materials such as acetone and atprime were stored in the following departments and/or buildings with organic perioxide formulations such as MEKP. a) Building 1, flange and fitting department. b) Resin chemical storage building. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is... To separate the flammable liquids from the MEKP by a wall having a fire resistance rating of at least one hour. Refer to NFPA 43B, C code for storage of organic peroxide formulations, 1986 edition.
