Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees on June 5, 1997 were exposed to falls while operating a scissor lift in close proximity to floor holes that were 2 " deep. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard include, but are not limited to: (1) Implement and develop a corporation policy to ensure compliance with ANSI/SIA A92.6- 1990 and the manufacturer's safe operating procedures to ensure that the scissor lift is only operated on a level surface without depressions.
