Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a. Warehouse/freezer Area - On or about August 23, 2000, employee(s) exposed to falls from wooden pallet raised by high lift trucks. Among other methods, feasible methods to correct these hazards are: 1. Use a basket in accordance with ANSI/ASME B56.1-2000. 2. Use an approved aerial lift such as but not limited to scissor lift, or extensible, articulating boom lift in accordance with the ANSI A-92 (.5) and (.6). 3.Use a portable ladder to access upper racks. NOTE: 29 CFR 1903.19 REQUIRES THAT YOU PROVIDE CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT FOR THIS ITEM.
