Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were allowed to climb on top of loaded flat bed trucks to affix protective tarpaulins. This exposes employees to falls from heights that could cause serious injury. Methods to protect employees, but not limited to, are the use of portable ladders, manlift devices or the use of worn fall arrestor devices.
