Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to being crushed by a moving vehicle:
a)Route 106:  An employee was riding on the driver's side running board of
a
dump truck as it was operating in reverse.
ABATEMENT NOTE:  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method
of abatement
would be not to allow employees to ride on moving equipment unless
additional seats and seat
belts are provided and used.ded
