employer did not
furnish to each of his employees a place of employment which was free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that
employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by the load on the
Grove Mobile
Hydraulic Cranes.
The employer allowed his employees to operate the following hydraulic
cranes throughout the
shipyard without conducting and documenting the required periodic
inspections of the equipment.
This condition exposed the employees to a struck-by hazard.
a) Grove wheel mounted crane with telescoping boom, Model RT 58 B, serial
number 40814.
b) Grove wheel mounted crane with telescoping boom, Model RT 58 C, serial
number 42204.
c) Manitowoc hydraulic Crawler Crane Model 3000, serial number 30194.
d) Manitowoc hydraulic Crawler Crane Model 4000-W, serial number 40034.
e) Manitowoc hydraulic Crawler Crane Model 4000, serial number 40122.
