Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: At the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, Cuerpo de Vigilantes building. The ceiling of the building entrance was in bad repair and pieces where falling were employees worked and walked. The employees performed office jobs, such as: answering telephones, portable radio communicators, filing documents, working with the computer and field work. Among other method, one feasible and acceptable is repair the ceiling or move from the building to other. Hazard: Employees struck by pieces of ceiling falling. En el Departamento de Recursos Naturales y Ambientales, edificio del Cuerpo de Vigilantes. El techo de la entrada del edificio estaba desprendiendose, los empleados estaban expuestos a que pedazos del techo de hormigon les cayera en la cabeza. Los empleados realizaban trabajos de oficina tales como: contestar el telefono, radio comunicadores portatiles, archivando documentos, trabajando con sus computadoras y trabajos de campo. Entre otros metodos de correccion, uno accesible y aceptable es reparar el techo o mudarse de edificio. Riesgo: Empleados sean golpeados por pedazos del techo.s
