Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to a fall hazard:
(a) Employees were exposed to a fall hazard due to working on a forklift
work platform
that exceeded two times load center distance from the back of the forks
forward over the
forks at 4200 West Creekside Circle in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Among
other
methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would
be to follow
the American National Standards Institute B56.6-2005, paragraph 8.24.1(b)
for platform
dimensions.
