North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injury from vehicles: a)facility - where employees were being exposed to unsecured vehicles on jack stands, the employer did not require the wheels of the vehicles to be chocked to prevent vehicles from movement and shifting off the jack stands. One feasible abatement method to correct this hazard is to chock the wheels front and back. Reference: Operating Instructions and Parts Manual, Dayton Hydraulic Service Jacks.
