Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that
employees were exposed to a fall hazard:
(a) Employees were exposed to a fall hazard due to working on a forklift
work
platform that extended more than 10 inches outside the front load bearing
tires at
1820 39th Street in Fargo, North Dakota.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard
would be to follow the American National Standards Institute B56.6-2005,
paragraphs
8.24.1(b) for platform dimensions.
Note: This company was previously cited for a violation of the
Occupational Safety
and Health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA
Inspection 311319776, Citation 1, Item 1, issued on September 13, 2007.
