Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrocution and/or electric shock hazards: a) As observed on or about 11/16/2011, an operator of an agricultural tractor- sprayer equipped with gantry booms made contact with an un-insulated 7.2 Kv, 2 phase, energized, overhead, distribution power line. Among others, means of feasible and accepted methods to correct the hazard include: 1. Comply with the requirements outlined in the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (2004 edition). 2. Ensure that employees operate mechanical equipment within the Limited Approach Boundary of overhead energized power lines following article 130.5, Work On or Near Un-insulated Overhead Lines, Paragraph (E) Vehicular and Mechanical Equipment. 3. Ensure that safety signs and tags are placed to warn employees of overhead power lines in accordance with article 130.7, Personal and Other Protective Equipment, Paragraph (E) Alerting Techniques.

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment that was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to laceration hazards: a) For the maintenance facility located at 707 W. Lake Drive in Wimauma (FL), as observed on or about 11/16/2011. Employees were exposed to laceration hazards associated with compressed air that was conveyed through PVC piping at pressures of 100 psi and greater. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to use cast iron piping or Acrylonitrile- Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) piping in accordance with ANSI/ASME B31.8-1986, Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping Systems standard.
