The dozer caught fire during discharge operations when cotton seed got inside the area around the hydraulic pump and inside the pump housing.  The employer had experienced a previous fire on a pay loader during a cotton seed operation and knew that it could cause mechanical equipment to catch fire.  The employer failed to clean cotton seed from the dozer to prevent the equipment from catching on fire.  Furthermore there was no documentation the employer had conducted any routine maintenance of the dozer at the intervals recommended by the manufacturer, including the daily check which may have prevented the fire.
