29 CFR 1910.22(a)(1):     All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, and service rooms shall be kept clean and orderly and in a sanitary condition.    a) On or about December 31, 2012, a machine operator was exposed to severe laceration hazards due to the metal filings around the Clausing engine lathe not being properly and expeditiously cleaned up after accumulation.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):      One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc.    a) In the machining area, machinests were operating (4) engine lathes without any guards in place over the rotating chucks.
