29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, were not protected by protective helmets: a) At the worksite on the north side of Illinois Route 13, an employee, was exposed to head injuries and was not wearing a protective helmet. The employee was on the ground working to lower concrete pipe into a trench along with a Komatsu track hoe. Head injury hazards come from the use of the sling used to lift the pipe, the metal lifting device inserted into the pipe and the track hoe itself.
