29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) a.) Francis J. Palo, Inc., 7335 Peach Street, Erie, PA, on or about May 20, 2013, and times prior thereto: Company employees were working with and around hazardous substances including but not limited to, Bituminous pipe joint compound. Employees were not provided effective Hazard Communication training as evidence by the fact that employees were not aware of the following items: 1) Operations in their work area where hazardous chemicals are present; and, 2) The location and availability of the written hazard communication program, including the required list of hazardous chemicals, and material safety data sheets; 3) The physical and health hazards of the chemicals in the work area.
