29 CFR 1910.219(e)(3)(i): Vertical and inclined belts shall be enclosed by a guard conforming to standards in paragraphs (m) and (o) of this section. a) Machine guarding on the Air Compressor was inadequate in that the a guard did not enclose the inward section exposing employees to pinch points/rotating parts. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903. 19(d) abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographice or video evidence, or written records.
