29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt with lanyard attached to the boom or basket was not worn by employee(s) working from an aerial lift: (a) 4453 Greenchain, Coeur d'Alene, ID: On or about July 23, 2013, and at times prior thereto, employee(s) were observed re-painting the trim work at an apartment complex in a Genie S-80 aerial lift without utilizing personal fall arrest systems attached to the boom and exposed to fall hazards. 29 CFR 1926.454(a): The employer did not have each employee who performed work while on a scaffold trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards. (a) On or about July 23, 2013, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not provide training for his employees to ensure they were equipped with appropriate knowledge and means to eliminate the hazards they were exposed to, when they were observed working out of a Genie S-80 aerial lift without a personal fall arrest system. Note: Abatement certification IS required for this item.
