29 CFR 1926.501(b)(15): Each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 meters) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system:    (a) On or about November 8th, 2013, employees at a new construction site located at, or directly north, of an existing structure (address 15499 559th Road in Brighton, MO) were building a new commercial structure.  The employees were exposed to serious fall hazards of more than 6 feet while working on a floor with an unprotected edge inside the building, and while free-climbing the exterior frame of the building.    Abatement certification is required for this Item.  Use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.   NOTE:  IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:   (a) On or about November 8th, 2013, employees who had not been trained in recognizing and mitigating fall hazards were exposed to serious fall hazards while performing new construction work on a building being erected directly behind (north of) 15499 559th Road in Brighton, MO.
