29 CFR 1926.850(a): An engineering survey was not performed by a competent person to determine the conditions of the framing floors and walls and the possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations.   (a)  983 East End Ave., Lakewood:  An employee of Four Seasons Tree Service was exposed to potential serious injury when his excavator overturned while conducting demolition of a multistory residential structure.  The employer failed to ensure that an engineering survey, performed by a competent person, had been conducted prior to the start of demolition activities.     NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
